Building the Driveway

Writer: SheilaSheila

"Before" shot of the driveway. Screengrab from google maps.

Compacting the driveway surface over and over and over again.

Gravel delivery day. Steve's using the excavator bucket to spread gravel while this guy uses the shovel.

Gravel layer is down.

Next, compacting the gravel over and over and over...

Gravel from my point of view.

Gravel + Item #4 (a smaller aggregate mixture of sand, dirt, and golfball size stone) + compactor = smoother stronger driveway surface

It's the simple things in life that make me happy, like the first time to have autumn leaves fall on the driveway.

The driveway is set. Heavy trucks can now pull all the way into the property to access the construction site without sinking.

What's up next:

  • Order an empty container for the trash wood pile

  • Fill the container with trash wood

  • Steve anticipates filling up 2 containers worth of trash wood and stumps

  • Come back again soon to find out if Steve was right

✌🏼Peace
